Advanced Soap Making in the Orchard

Head out to the Gopher Glen orchard with Foxen Cayon Soap Company and learn advanced soap making techniques using cold precess steps, Lye, and special ingredients affect the final product! Participants take home their very own soaps! For those who have taken the intro class or have other experience. (moisturizing, sudsy, scents, color, and more). Together we will make a batch of soap and each student will pour some into their mold to take home (3-4 bars of soap per person). Since participants will be working with lye this is a 15yrs and older class. Class taught by Ellowyn, local soap maker and owner of Foxen Canyon Soap Company. Ellowyn sources from local agriculture and businesses whenever possible. Participants will enjoy house pressed apple cider. We will also have hard cider available for purchase. After the class, the farm stand will be open for shopping.

There are so many benefits to making your own soap. Soaps made in small batches ensure quality control and ingredients are more natural and pure than most commercial soaps. However, if you don’t have time to make your own soaps don’t worry, we have a full line of many-scented handmade soaps for purchase made for Gopher Glen by Foxen Canyon in our farm store.

Please bring along a warm jacket and comfortable close toed shoes since this class takes place in the orachard.
